I'm Jack

Hi, I'm a software developer from County Mayo in the west of Ireland - that's the view from my house in the picture. Below I've listed some of my previous work experience and side projects.

If you'd like to work with me, please get in touch.

Work Experience

RBS - Edinburgh, Scotland

September 2017 - Present

I work as a web developer for the Personal & Business Banking Management Information Team. We produce internal tools to help our frontline staff manage their performance. Currently, I am using D3.js to produce interactive visualisations for the management of advertising campaigns.

Accenture - Dublin, Ireland

September 2016 - September 2017

I have worked on two projects at Accenture so far. On my first project I worked as a performance tester, testing and tuning a Java application. On my current project, I am a member of the technical architecture team, performing server builds and mainanence for a Jboss application. I've written about my role at Accenture in more detail here.

Matchday - Dublin, Ireland

March 2016 - September 2016

I worked as a full stack developer with Matchday building a real time fantasy sports game. The technology stack included Elixir, Phoenix Framework, PostgreSQL and Javascript.

Freelance Work

Trigger Party Records

March 2017

When my friend Tom started a record label, I was only too happy to build a website for him. Using Phoenix/Elixir and Stripe I built a website for Tom to sell records and merchandise and promote the label. Check it out here.

Fontaines

May 2017

The Fontaines are a rock and roll band from Dublin. With this project I got an opportunity to work with both the band and a very talented photographer JustGrayce. The website is an online presence for the band to promote their shows and their music.

Side Projects

Tronity Mews

March 2016

My friend and I started a humorous news blog in our final year of college. Modelled on sites such as the Onion, we wrote about college politics and society life. In the space of three months, we organically grew our subscribers to over 2000, with an average post reach of 15,000 and 10 - 15% post engagement. You can have a look at Tronity Mews here.
